Student Data Privacy

Photopea never asks for any data about the user. Photopea.com can be used right after opening the website, without making any accounts, sign-in, log-in etc. There is no way Photopea can misuse or "leak" any information about our users, because we do not have any.

Photopea runs completely in your device. No file ever leaves your computer. You can even open Photopea.com, disconnect from the internet and use the editor (open, edit and save files) while being offline. So there is no way that we or anyone else could ever get access to your work.

Basic Photopea

Anybody in the world can use our editor Photopea for free by going to Photopea.com. There is no need to create any accounts, remember passwords or pay any fees. It works immediately after you open the website.

Photopea without ads

There is a simple way for schools to use Photopea without ads. Two things are required:

  • Have a schools website
  • Pay a fee once a year (the prices start at $450 per year for the whole school)

There is no need to create accounts for every student, no serial keys, passwords, logging in, etc. Photopea can be obtained in two steps:

1. Put Photopea into your website

When your school has a website, you can place Photopea into it. You can create an independent webpage for Photopea, e.g. www.OurSchool.com/photopea.html. Use this short HTML code:

This code makes Photopea run at your website for free (but with ads). We will also know the number of people, who visit Photopea through your website (i.e. through the domain OurSchool.com).

You can use our sample HTML page, which will show Photopea in fullscreen.

2. Remove Ads

We have a list of domains, which can run Photopea without ads. When Photopea is opened inside another webpage, it checks, if the current domain is in that list, and removes the ads automatically.

You need a Distributor account to add your domain (e.g. OurSchool.com) to that list. The process is described here.

If you can not afford to pay the fee, but you can promote Photopea in some other way, let us know at support@photopea.com and we can add your domain into the list manually.

Fun Facts

  • After paying, you get a so-called whitelabel mode. Besides hiding ads, you can also rename the editor to your own brand, customize it, etc.
  • Students can use Photopea at your website from anywhere (from school or from home) and from any device (even from a phone).
  • You can create a mechanism to verify, if a visitor is from your school, but it is usually not needed.
